A DOUBLE BAZOOKA antenna is an extremely broad banded Half Wave Antenna which can operate efficiently across an entire Ham band with little change to the SWR. The DOUBLE BAZOOKA antenna design was first conceived as a radar antenna in the early 1940's for use by the U.S. Government. It was modified for amateur radio use in the 1950's. 

Home-Brew DOUBLE BAZOOKA rarely survive harsh elements and wind-load stresses. The weak points were typically at the feed point and coax to twin lead connection. The I.A.C. design is the culmination of a three year development program, including state of the art materials and encapsulation techniques, to provide the amateur radio operator with an antenna that will endure such harsh elements. Construction methods and components used are of government Mil-Specquality.

Antenna construction centers around 50 ohm Belden 8259 coax cable, in combination with 300 Ohm transmission line end sections. The end result is a center feed broadband full wave dipole.

Provided for the operator's 50 Ohm feed line is an SO-239, a silver plated connector having Teflon insulation and a gold plated socket.

The features of the proprietary design anchor the connector in high shear UV resistant molding. The coax elements are sealed in this molding, which exhibits high adhesion to the PVC jacket.

Mil-spec heat shrink tubing, with a melting inner liner, is utilized to seal and strain relieve the transition area between the coax and the twin lead. Heat shrink caps are applied to the outermost ends of the twin lead completing antenna construction.

This unique design eliminates the need for antenna matching baluns and can be fed directly with 50 Ohm coax. The DOUBLE BAZOOKA is 98% efficient and typically provides S.W.R. readings of less than 2:1 over the entire amateur band.

Since this antenna has no exposed metal wire static charges can not build up thus reducing noise by 6dB over antennas constructed of exposed wire.

The DOUBLE BAZOOKA antenna will handle 3000 watts continuous power with no effect to performance.

The DOUBLE BAZOOKA is recommended to be mounted in an inverted "V" configuration for optimum results. However the DOUBLE BAZOOKA can be configured horizontally with equally good results.

In addition to the listed band, you will find that our DOUBLE BAZOOKA antennas will also operate on some other bands with the aid of an antenna tuner.

The DOUBLE BAZOOKA can be configured as a phased array with an optional add-on kit.

The DOUBLE BAZOOKA phased array produces up to 4.5dB forward gain and a front to back ratio of typically 20dB over a single dipole antenna.

Simply Amazing
I am glad that I started my Ham experience with an antenna from the fine folks at International Antenna Corporation! Before getting licensed as a General just a few months ago, I spent several months listening to the HF bands through various Websdr sites and later, my own computer-based SDR unit. It was during this time that I was making notes and gathering information to help me decide on the equipment that I would make a part of my station. I used those months of listening to on-the-air reports/reviews to compliment the available online posts/reviews, to make my first purchase of 2 IAC Double Bazookas— starting with the 40M Standard and later adding the 80M "Shorty" version. Both were easily mounted in a single tree in an Inverted V configuration using the easy-to-follow directions for obtaining optimum results across each antenna's intended band. My overall experience has been exceptional and I have never regretted going with IAC from the get-go for my home QTH antenna needs. To Summarize: • "I' is for the INCREDIBLE receive "I" have and signal reports "I" get after installing the antenna based on their band/frequency recommendations. I only fine-tune as the far ends of my personal frequency coverage installation settings are approached. • "A" is for the ATTENTION to detail that you will see in the design and construction of the antenna. "IAC antennas are produced utilizing Mil(itary)-Spec materials and workmanship"... is not marketing hype! There is no way that I have the talent nor the time to create anything comparable to their solid product. I have not experienced any type of noise or rf issues and I am extremely pleased with the directional/omni-directional characteristics. • "C" is for the CUSTOMER service available to not only each customer after purchase, but for each of you before-purchase while you are CONSIDERING an IAC antenna. Highly Recommended
My 40m double bazooka has been up for 4 years, without a hitch. I run 2w QRP, up to 1500w, and get great performance both ways. Tuner not needed anywhere on the band. Highly recommended.
